The Three Followings
There are three well-established Followings that are led by one individual leader each and have their own set of laws and moral guides. Click on the territory names to be taken to a more detailed post of each Following.
Bewildered Cove is considered a "good" following led by a just and patient ruler.
The Wise Longplains are considered a "neutral" following, and are led by a new leader taking the place of his late mother.
The Lawful Marsh is considered another "neutral/strict" following, led by a very old spinsorus who deals in fairness and justice, never taking sides.

The Three Followings: A Brief Overview
There are three major Followings that have claimed territories on both continents. Some are strict in what species may join, and some are more lenient. Followings can have members into the thousands, all safe within the territory their respective leader protects. Being a part of one of these Followings is the norm, although the Mythos, various Factions, and smaller family-like Groups exist throughout each continent. Click on the territory titles to be taken to that Following's post with all the info you'd need to join.
The Bewildered Cove queen is named Lumi the Regina. She uses her full name when in a formal conversation, but her followers often just call her "Lumi" or "Regina". She is a gentle soul who cares deeply for every dragon under her care and command. Though she has the ability to control any of her followers, she has never done so as she feels it is an abuse of power. She wants to know her followers are loyal and feel trusted so they can in turn trust her, letting them know she values them each as individuals rather than pushing them around like puppets. Though it's rare, dinosaurs can also be welcomed into her territory, though rules must be followed. Her acceptance of dinosaurs has sparked some internal debate with her followers.
The prince - now king - of the Wise Longplains, Diligens, has only ruled for just under a year. The old matriarch, his mother, passed away last summer. Determined to make his mother proud, he is stepping up and taking on more responsibility just as a leader should. He is kind but stern, and he doesn't stand for disrespect in his territory. Though he accepts dragons and dinosaurs into his territory, carnivores of both species are only allowed to feed outside of his land, a reminder to them all that the herd is not food. He is well-liked by his herd, but still needs time to earn the respect his mother had, and will still often confer with the second-in-command to see if he's doing things right. He's young, but that also means he's a bit faster than other sauropods and is fully capable of putting up a fight against predators.
Despite being considered a neutral following, the Lawful Marsh is a much more strict place. Led by an aging Spinosaurus named Avus who doesn't accept disrespect in his territory, not following his rules is met with far more strict a punishment than the other Followings. Respecting each other and even more so your superiors is key to finding a safe home here. Being humble is your safest option under Avus' rule. He accepts carnivorous dinosaurs and some species of dragons into his Marsh, but earning the right to join is no simple task. His followers call his rules "Marshal Law", and though the wordplay is a bit humorous, it's also very true. His followers have only so much say in what they do with their lives, only having time to themselves after all tasks are finished to Avus' liking. Under this old dinosaur's rule, only one other can give any sort of orders to the entire following - the aptly titled Colonel. Together these two keep the following in check, reinforcing laws that may seem harsh at first, but the longer you stay the easier everything is to understand. There is great protection here, but those with proud personalities won't be well-suited to this lifestyle.

Respect is expected from everyone, no matter their rank or age. Though a level of respect must be earned, respecting another's value as their own being is crucial to keeping everyone happy.
Pull your weight to make life easier for the colony as a whole, including yourself. Without order and without taking turns to do what you can where you can, there will inevitably be weaknesses that could endanger everyone.
Family is key to the survival of the colony. Nurse Aids, guards, hunters; all those who give and protect both the young and weak keep the core - the future - safe and growing steadily.

Rankings
Speaker: Usually the oldest, most trusted dragon in the flock is given this position. They are allowed to give commands in the wake of an emergency on the territory should Lumi be out at sea for any reason.
Commander: This role is given to a dragon who watches over each rank as a sort of supervisor. Each commander is expected to report to Lumi monthly in order to address any issues and give updates on the status of the ranking they command.
Mentor:Though basically the same in their purpose in the territory, Mentors still must answer to Commanders before positions are filled by their recruits. The mentor will take new recruits under their wing and help them find where they can best fit in.
Hunter: Hunters are exactly what they sound like, the dragons responsible for bringing the followers food, both herbivorous, omnivorous, or carnivorous. Hunters will also aid Patrol when an intruder is found, providing the muscle as most Patrols are picked for their keen sight, fast
Patrol: To ensure the safety of borders on Bewildered Cove, patrols are sent every moon cycle in every direction to search for intruders or potential new members. If intruders are on the rise, patrols will be sent out more frequently, and if need be it's usually the Hunters sent with them to confront the intruder. This is due to the fact Hunters must be swift to catch fast prey but are also strong, and are more likely to be able to fight off intruders. Patrols themselves are usually the quickest and most keen-eyed fliers who can make a signal with fire to alert of an intruder, and so are not always the most powerful.
Nursery Aid: Many species of dragon live in Bewildered Cove, ranging vastly in their seasons for laying and hatching. The Aids are usually of the same species they're helping to hatch, though any species can be an Aid to any egg. In fact, in some cases like the Razorwhip, the males are temporarily banished due to their natural instincts, leaving a different species to help mothers with their hatchlings. An Aid must be smart, strong, and patient. They must be able to protect the young from any predators and be able to tolerate the chaotic nature of young ones.
Recruit: When first joining the Following, you will be given no role. Recruits will be told all of their options to work towards, but they must earn the approval of their mentor, their role commander, and sometimes even Lumi herself before they are officially allowed to contribute.

WiseLongplains
The prince - now king - of the Wise Longplains, Diligens, has only ruled for just under a year. The old matriarch, his mother, passed away last summer. Respect is Diligens' most repeated rule, both towards himself and towards each other. Disrespect is quickly addressed, righted, and the offender is given a strict, one-time-only warning. Though this may seem a bit too strict, even though he's a giant, he is still an herbivore, and thus prey to some extent by the laws of nature. Keeping everyone in check and respectful of boundaries is key to his own survival.
No Carnivorous Meals can be eaten on Wise Longplains territory. Any dragon or dinosaur that eats meet has a designated area just off the territory's border where they are all able to eat without fear of scaring the potential prey they live with. Upon returning they must be clean and not stink of blood. Diligens chose this method to make it clear to both predator and prey that within his territory, everyone is safe from each other.
Pulling Your Weight is another strongly upheld aspect of living in Diligens' territory. The guardians are the most scrutinized to ensure patrol and watch switch regularly to keep themselves fed and well-rested before going out to protect the territory. Even the young are expected to do whatever they can, preparing them early for the reality that life is not all fun and games.
Being Wary of New Members is a warning Diligens put into place to ensure the safety of everyone. If a trespasser is found and claims to be a non-hostile, the king of the Longplains himself (or the Second-In-Command) will meet them before they are allowed to set foot in the territory. After being asked a string of question, the rules will be explained, and the newcomer will be guarded at all times by a spare guardian for one moon cycle. If they cause no trouble and prove they have no ill intentions during that time, Diligens will be is satisfied that the new member isn't a danger and has understood, and accepted, the laws of the land.
Rankings
Second-In-Command:As the title suggests, the second-in-command is to be addressed with minor problems and, if deemed above his/her head, they take the topic up with Diligens to ensure they're on the same page. These two must be able to communicate clearly and quickly to make sure everything gets done in a reasonable amount of time.
Guardians:Be they dragons posted on the highest cliffs or the tallest dinosaurs able to see above the long grass, the guardians are both look-outs and patrols. While one stays within the safety of the territory watching from afar, their counterpart is out past the view of the patrol checking for signs of danger or trespassers. Every few days the rolls are switched, giving each a chance to rest and recharge. Guardians are also used to escort newcomers at all times for the first moon cycle of their stay.
Hunters: Though primarily inhabited by large herbivorous dinosaurs, Diligens has allowed both predators and carnivorous dragons to seek a home here, a law his mother created and one he upholds even now out of respect. While they are expected to eat away from the herd in a small bordered nook, a balance is struck between the strong who go hunting and the strong who are guardians. Typically it's the more lithe carnivores that are sent out hunting.
Egg Mothers: Any female of any species can be an Egg mother, which is basically an aid to new parents, taking care of incubating eggs so the parents can leave to eat and not become weary, and be fast enough to snag rowdy hatchlings. Compassion, patience, and quick reflexes are the key to helping the diverse herd grow.
Fresh Steps: The "Fresh Steps", another title and choice Diligen's mother implemented that he upholds, are the newcomers to the herd. They are called "the fresh step(s)" due to the fact they are making a fresh start. They must learn the rules, follow those rules, and accept they are at the bottom of the pecking order until they can prove themselves useful and fit into a role.

Summer, Year Prior: The old matriarch passed away last summer, leaving her eldest son to look after the Longplains. So far, he's been fair and wise, as his title suggests. He is very thorough, checking and re-checking anything that could be a weakness in his territory's border and making sure no food is stolen.

LawfulMarsh
Despite being considered a neutral following, the Lawful Marsh is a much more strict place. Responsibility is the key to thriving in these lands. Responsibility for yourself, for your actions, your responsibility to follow orders and, most importantly, the responsibility to protect those weaker than yourself. While Avus obviously demands proper respect, shirking responsibility even once is ground for banishment.
The Golden Rule is another of Avus' closely held laws. Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. He firmly believes in karma, having seen it play out many times before his very eyes. Thus, staying on karma's good side is expected of everyone he protects in his Marsh.
Maturity is only an exception to those younger than sub-adults. The rest of the group, however, are not to play needless games to waste their time. Your rank tasks should take up the majority of your day, and as with any mature adult, you are expected to only let your guard down after a long day of responsibilities. Even Avus, the aging Spinosaurus that he is, does his daily rounds before relying on his Colonel for the rest of his tasks. As an elder, he has earned the luxury of watching over his protected group proudly and relaxing until it comes time to get down to business.
Adventure Close To Home so as to not go too far beyond the Lawful Marsh. The rule is relatively new, and has only come to be due to Avus' age. He's begun setting up sentries in greater numbers to help those who want something just beyond the border, but if there's one thing this old leader fears, it's his own inability to reach a member of his group too late due to his age. Thus, never fully leave his territory, else you will swiftly get one hell of a talking to.
Rankings
Colonel: The colonel of Lawful Marsh is always in constant communication with Avus, ensuring they are always on the same page. As their leader is old and not quite as spry as he used to be, the colonel will take primary control of any newcomers or any ill-intending intruders. Only if something escalates past what the colonel can handle does he request their leader.
Hunters/Gatherers: Hunters are responsible for bringing back meat, fish, and other carnivorous meals, while Gatherers bring fresh plants, herbs, nuts and fruits for the few herbivorous animals that live here. These positions are pretty self-explanatory.
Herbalists: Herbalists are dragons or dinosaurs that know natural remedies for small wounds and mild illnesses. Just as eating grass can help an upset stomach or Ginko to decrease a wound's swelling and memory issues from head trauma. Herbalists have an almost supernatural air about them, always seeming to know just what to do to heal a myriad of ailments.
Sentries: All around the Lawful Marsh sentries are posted in pairs of three. Two built for fighting, one built for speed to return fast and call attention to the intrusion. The teams will often switch out with each other and even put together a good sentry team to take their place should a trio become weary and need rest. Any species of any clade can be temporary sentries in that scenario, though the Colonel must approve of the three chosen.
Nurses: The nurse plays a very simple but very important role; giving aid to new mothers and helping to incubate eggs. There can be many nurses at once, but it usually requires one dinosaur and one dragon to tend to both clades living here. A nurse is expected to be patient, caring, and strong. If you don't have the strength to protect yourself, you can't even hope to protect others. While they aren't expected to take down huge intruders, they are expected to be able to hold off the attackers long enough for others to come to their aid.
Layman: Newcomers are given a quite derogatory name until they can prove themselves. The term "layman" refers to someone without professional or specialized knowledge in a particular subject. When explained it makes it a bit less demeaning, but regardless the newcomers are given no illusions that life here will be cozy unless they start to gain rankings and earn such leisure.
